First Halloween

Here are some pictures from Cruz's First Halloween.  We found the Zebra costume the other day at a Consignment Shop, and couldn't pass up the $8 price tag.  Hence the 2 costumes.

Pictures and Sleeplessness

Today, we ran over to Target and got Cruz's pictures taken for the first time professionally.  I can't say they were uber "professional," but they got a few cute ones.  Ben was not thrilled with how they turned out..and of course you get suckered into buying more than you would like.  At least we had a coupon.  Cruz was a trooper through it all, and was absolutely adorable of course.

In addition to the pictures, Cruz is sure throwing us for a loop lately.  He has woken up the past 2 nights at 3am, when he normally sleeps until at least 6am.  We tried everything we could think of on Saturday morning, and after an hour of crying, we tried a bottle, and he was as happy as a clam.  And as much as we do not want this to become a new habit, we fed him at 3am again this morning.  We sure hope this is a growth spurt and not something that will continue for a long time.  It was fine the past two days because it was the weekend, but we are worried about what will happen tonight!

To add to it, he has been horrible at going down for a nap!  He has been fighting it all weekend.  He just screams and cries even though you know he is exhausted.  I guess he is just a little off.  Hopefully the Daycare Routine evens him out.

Large and In Charge

We can't believe how gigantic Cruz has become.  He is so heavy, that when he is in his bouncer, he is almost horizontal.  I just had to post because it is so funny!

Sunday Stroll

Well, the weather has cooled off, and it is finally chilly in the mornings and evenings and beautiful in the afternoons; my favorite reason for living in Arizona!  The past 2 mornings, we have taken the whole family for a walk, Bridgette included.  It has been great.  We even stopped at a garage sale yesterday and got some clothes for Cruz, a Dinosaur book, and a Baby Sign Language DVD for a whopping $5!  What a deal!  The woman was just trying to get rid of her stuff.  She said, "Five Dollars?  Take whatever you want."

Cruz was decked out this morning in pants and long sleeves, and a pair of Halloween socks he received in the mail from Karen.  His sunglasses finally fit on his head...but they won't stay on.  He sure looks cute though!

Complete with a Thumb's Up!

First Tooth!

Here is Cruz's new tooth!  I can't believe I was able to snap a picture!  We discovered it October 13, on the way to MacDonald's Ranch.  Cruz was extra fussy in the car because it was time to eat, so Ben told me to stick my finger in his mouth to give him something to suck on.  This is not something I normally do because I have long nails and it just creeps me out, but I did.  What to my surprise--a tooth!  He has not been unusually fussy--happy as always.  He's just putting anything and everything in his mouth and drooling a lot.

Nana's in Town!

Nana came into town this weekend and was a lifesaver.  I don't know what we would have done without her.  I was a bridesmaid in my friend, Cori's wedding.  Ben was invited to all of the major events starting on Thursday evening with a Couple's Shower, Rehearsal Dinner Friday, and Wedding Saturday.  We were both in and out so much, it only made sense to have someone here with us the whole weekend.  Nana flew in and enjoyed some one-on-one time with Cruz.  It was so nice not being worried while we were gone, and Cruz sure loved his cuddles and songs from Nana.  We are all SO lucky to have Nana!

Mini Mozart

You've gotta appreciate some good music and some CRAZY hair!  Sadly, his hair is falling out ALOT!  I am using a Lint Brush in his crib every morning, and even Ms. Melissa at Daycare has noticed as well.  I swore his hair would NEVER fall out, but I was wrong!  I hope his hair makes up it's mind soon and starts growing.  He looks pretty goofy from the side.

5 Months Old!

Here are pictures of 5 Month Old Man!  Cruz is now much stronger, and loves to be upright all the time.  He now is rolling over a lot, and is cutting his first tooth.  He is even wearing 9 and 12 month clothing!  He loves playing with his bottle and gets distracted very easily when eating.  I can't get over how much he is changing everyday!  I am looking forward to what else the 5th month will bring!

Ben's Halloween Extravaganza!

Well, I promised Ben a long time ago that when we had a baby, he was allowed to go decorate for the holidays.  Well, he did not forget!  He truly went "all-out" in preparation for Cruz's First Halloween!  Here are a few pictures of the house!  I can only imagine what he's got cooking for Christmas!

MacDonald's Ranch

Today we took a family trip out to MacDonald's Ranch to commemorate Cruz's first Fall.  We met our friends, Dave and Maria and their daughter, Olivia.  It was great to get out and spend some time outside.  On the way there, we even discovered that Cruz is getting his first tooth!  He is growing so fast!!

Sleepy Boy!

I just realized these two pictures were taken on the same day!

Apparently he did not want to let go when he fell asleep on the way home from Daycare!!

Teething? Maybe?

So, we think Cruz may be cutting his first tooth.  He has been fussy all day, chewing on everything he can get his hands on, and Aunt Mel said all of his symptoms were typical of teething(cold cheeks, warm gums).  Here is Cruz chowing down on his burp rag.

Big Boy in My Stroller!

Cruz is rounding out at 15.2lbs these days, and the car seat is just too much to carry around.  And, since he is better at holding his head up, we decided to try out the stroller without the car seat at the mall.  Cruz was such a good boy!  He did spit up all over Ben when we took a break from shopping to feed him.  But, it was nothing that the hand dryer in the Men's Room couldn't solve.  I also had my first experience changing him in a public bathroom.  I was so grossed out!  But, Ben did point out that we have many years of this ahead of us.  He even took a nap, and got a new hat!

Yay! I am a big boy!

Shopping is exhausting!
Sporting my new hat!

We Have a Dog?

Cruz has finally become very interested in Bridgette.  He just loves her so much, and smiles when she comes near now.  Here are a few pictures of Cruz "petting" her and reaching out for her.  So cute!

She doesn't seem to mind.  We did tug on her a lot while I was pregnant to prepare her for this.
I'm going to get you!

High Alert!

Usually she is jumping at the chance to get that spit!

Halloween Preview

Cruz received his first Halloween costume in the mail today.  He is going to be a monster.  As much as I loved all of the adorable choices I found while looking online, this kid spits up so much, he needs machine washable attire.  Most costumes said "Surface Wash Only."  I was so excited, that we just had to try on the hat to show Dad when he got home from work.

New Pediatrician

Today we saw a new pediatrician.  Even though Ben just took Cruz Friday for his 4 Month Well Check and shots, we are already meeting a new doctor for Cruz.  Let's just say, we were not happy with how things have gone since Cruz had MRSA.  Not to mention that she treated Ben like the Babysitter.  That was the icing on the cake.  So, we had some time while we waited for the new one, so we snapped some pictures.

Dad left work early to meet the new doctor.
Not only is Cruz in love with the crinkly paper on the exam table, he finally found his feet!  We were so excited to both be there to see it!

We also discovered that Cruz has a funny toe!  I had actually noticed it the past few mornings while I was feeding him his bottle, and was glad we got to ask about it.  She said it was a cosmetic thing, and that is we asked all of our family members to remove their shoes, we were bound to find someone else with a funny foot.  At least he is not Honey Boo Boo's niece with a 6th finger!
