Jumperoo

On Friday, we picked up a Jumperoo from a woman on Craigslist.  It was only $25!  The post was 2 weeks old, and I thought there would be no way it was still available, but it was!  We got a steal of a deal.  It was well taken care of, and all the pieces were in tact and the electronics worked as well.  Identical ones were selling on Craigslist anywhere from $40-$65.  I spent 2 hours sanitizing it and making sure it was in pristine condition.  We put him in it this afternoon, and he sure was a happy guy!  He loves his new Jumper!

He Finally Got Those Birds!

Cruz has loved his bouncy seat from Day 1.  It vibrates and makes bird noises.  He is infatuated with those birds and will watch them contently all the time.  Today, he finally reached out and got those birds.  It was hilarious! 

Sleeping on His Stomach?

Well, this evening, Ben went to check on Cruz, and this is how he found him!  I guess his break from rolling over has ended.  He was almost out cold.  I guess he was comfortable.

Then, I took over the picture taking.  I was so excited, I woke the poor boy up.  He did not mind though.  You can see he was quite proud of himself.  We put him back onto his back and found him on his tummy 2 more times in the middle of the night.  We will see what happens. We may have a tummy sleeper!

Hanging in Bridgette's Nest

Bridgette has taken to making "nests" on the couch.  Today, Cruz joined her.  As you can see, she is a very patient puppy.  She just loves this baby!

Perks of the Job

Bridgette has taken her job to a new level.  Not only does she jump at the chance to lick up spit-up...she now has taken to grooming the baby.  As you can see, Cruz doesn't mind one bit.  You gotta love her! 

4 Months Old Today!

Hard to believe just 4 months ago, this little guy was born. It seems like he has always been here!

Poor Guy

After a visit to Urgent Care last Thursday for a nasty Staph Infection and a strong dose of antibiotics, this little guy is on the mend.  He has remained happy throughout it all, but naps have become very short(hence the tired look on his face).  We are thinking the antibiotics may be causing an upset stomach.  He is at least sleeping at night....whew!

Cruz has also decided to take a break from Rolling Over.  We keep trying, but no luck.  I thought he was going to in this picture, but it did not happen.  He is just happy where he is!

Multi-tasking

Cruz is loving chewing on things these days, and absolutely loves this teether from Aunt Christie.  This afternoon, he was playing on his Kick and Play and amazingly chewing on the teether all at once!  This boy makes me laugh!

Mismatch Morning

Cruz is sporting his car pants this morning as his diaper leaked last night.  He is sleeping a solid 11 hours, unless needing to be woken up to go to daycare.  The Costco Diapers are just not cutting it anymore, so I went to Sam's with my friend Megan yesterday to buy Pampers.  I refuse to use the Pampers until the Costco ones are gone.  My plan was to send the Costco brand to daycare, but they have a weight limit of 15 lbs, and his weight at the Doctor's on Wednesday was 14lbs, 9oz.  I guess we will be using the Pampers overnight for the time being.  Anyways, I just love these photos. 

 Poor little guy is also just getting over his first cold which he gave to both Ben and I.  The saddest part was knowing there was nothing we could do for him except Baby Vick's, nose aspirator, and the humidifier. It has been quite the week in the Gutierrez household, but worth it for this sweet boy!

Bubbles!

Found his Feet!

Cruz has finally found his feet.  They are his new favorite toy!  His legs are ALWAYS in the air.  He is almost able to get them in his mouth.  

He looks so happy, you would never believe we had been to the doctor this morning for a bad rash.  I had only been at work for an hour when daycare called.  They were really concerned.  It was all over his stomach and spreading all over his body.  By the time I got there, his stomach was looking better, but the backs of his legs were raw and so were his ankle bones, and what I had originally thought was diaper rash that morning, was looking worse.  

We were able to get in right away...and it turns out it was just eczema...the doctor called it ID...basically, when there is a flare-up in one area, it can spread to other areas.  She gave us some prescription ointment and after slathering it on and a long nap, it looked so much better.  We now must coat him with Eucerin twice a day, and apply the ointment as needed.  It seems to be under control.  You can see a bit what it looked like in the pictures.  It actually looks worse after a bath.  He sure is keeping us on our toes!

Mobile Mania!

Last week, we checked out the second hand store, Once Upon a Child.  It was a neat store and we loved looking around.  We surprisingly found a mobile we had seen at Babies R Us for $50 and paid $10 for it..totally worth it!  Cruz just loves looking at the animals. 

Rolling Over!

Last Sunday, Cruz rolled over.  It was so exciting because we actually both saw it.  He rolled over from his back to his stomach.  Then, this past Thursday, he rolled over from his stomach to his back.  Here are some pictures from this evening.  He was so funny.  We thought he was going to roll over again, but he was only moving so he could see the Michigan Game.  He was infatuated.  He stayed that way for about 10 minutes.
